Each preschool family is asked to bring the following items to Parent-Child Day:

  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • 2 rolls of toilet paper
  • 1 box of Kleenex
  • 1 drawstring bag containing a change of clothes – please label bag and clothing with child’s name
  • 1 pair of rubber boots for your child to wear in our outdoor classroom – these will stay at school. Please label with child’s name.
  • Emergency Supply Kit: please fill out and return this form along with an encouraging note to your child from you, and one Family photo. These will be used to soothe your child in the event we are delayed at school due to a big storm, etc.
  • Photos for “Me Books” as listed below (child, family, pet, home, special place…)
  • Fragrant flower petals (roses, lavender, etc.) or fragrant leaves (herbs, cedar, etc.) that have been picked by your child and allowed to dry (any amount from a few petals to a bag is fine)

Paper Towels: In addition, Blue Class will bring a roll of paper towels, each month from September through December. Green Class will provide a roll of paper towels, each month from January through May.

PRESCHOOL “ME BOOKS”

The preschool children will be making “Me Books” during the first days of school. These will include photos and artifacts that are special to each child and are provided by each family. Between now and the first day of school please gather small photos (no larger than 4X6”), drawings, and/or flat(tish) objects that can be used in creating small “Me Books” for children to refer to throughout the school year. We will use these books as a way to connect school and home. Many children like to look at these pictures during the course of the day – some when they are missing Mom or Dad, and others as they form new friendships.

We will be making pages for the following or similar topics:

  • ** Me
  • ** My Family (one picture of everyone together, or pictures of individuals: mom, dad, sister, grandma, etc.)
  • ** My Home (house, apartment, bedroom, tent, bed…)
  • My Pet(s)
  • A Special Person, Place or Thing
  • My Favorite (food, toy, activity, book, etc. – your child’s choice)
  • Something I like to do
  • A place I like to go
  • Something I did this summer
  • Surprise!

Each book will be unique. You do not need to include something for everything on the list, and you may include items for topics that are not listed, but do include at least one picture (photo or drawing) of the starred items.
